America's Highest IQ Says: "God Must Exist" and "Jesus is the Ultimate Incarnation." Here's Why.
IQ isn't everything. In fact, when it comes to a lot of the world's most impactful people, oftentimes their IQ is just a bit above average. But there are times when an ultra high-IQ person brings a lot of value to humanity. One of those ways is by using their heightened power of logic and focus to crunch vast amounts of potentiality. This is one of those cases.
Chris Langan has an IQ around 200, placing him among the highest IQs ever recorded. But instead of using his intelligence to go work for the CIA and crack cyber-codes, he chose to investigate the depths of philosophy, morality, and the purpose of our reality. In doing so, Langan developed a scientific model called the "Cognitive-Theoretic Model of the Universe" or 'CTMU' for short. He describes it as a model that unites science, math, and philosophy to come up with a "theory of everything."
Personally, having sold complex Microsoft AI, and been peppered with theological questions from youth and college students, I have had to develop the skill of taking hardly-fathomable models from extremely smart people, and explain them to others looking to apply them. Reading Chris' writings and listening to his interviews was certainly one of those situations, and like Salieri in the movie Amadeus, I tried to distill this man's genius into some consumable observations for us "normal" people to build appreciation for the numinous. I found the outputs of his findings to be truly inspiring, and I think you might too.
In the 10 points below, I want to help give you confidence that following God and Jesus aren't just for wishful thinkers, or people who are thought to be unenlightened. But like my article about AI finding God, even some of the smartest people on the planet are seeing the logic for God—and the need for Jesus. Not only that, but how they add immense purpose and value to your life by making you more joyful, impactful, and successful in your time here on earth—as well as more prepared to be in the presence of the divine.
10 Key CTMU Conclusions on God and Jesus
1) God and Science are Not Different: “God and reality are one” says the model. There is no difference or debate about science vs. religion. In Chris' model, God is not a fairy tale in the sky on a cloud vs. science as an objective and quantifiable truth. God is the unfathomably powerful creator of all that is. God is God, and God is Science. God is in everything, and is also a transcendent singular creator. Chris says to deny this in our lives is to make the most grave mistake a person could ever make, to miss the entire purpose of our existence. I talked about this view of God in one of my Instagram Reels.
2) God is a Logical Necessity: The CTMU says "the structure of reality requires a God." In other words, the model of everything from one of the smartest men on the planet says God must exist because logic requires it for the model of existence to work. Others like Albert Einstein have said similar, ie, that the only way the deepest scientific and quantum models of the universe make any sense is if God is inserted into the equation as the constant.
3) Free Will is Part of the Divine Structure: Chris emphasizes that free will is essential, as it enables people to align with God’s purpose or diverge from it, which is a key reason for living. He suggests that free will is required for allowing people to actively participate in God’s plan, and choose to live with God, or not. In other words, the model does not require all elements to be static, and we are not robots.
4) God is the Ultimate Entity: The CTMU outputs that God, as "Self-Configuring and Self-Processing," is the ultimate source of all structure, intelligence, and existence within reality. This means that God continuously configures and sustains reality through a logical, self-referential process. By this logic, God isn’t just a creator who initiated reality and went on vacation, but God is an active, sustaining force that permeates every aspect of our existence.
5) Reality is the Ultimate “Proof” of God: The CTMU concludes what seems obvious to many of us, that the existence and structure of reality itself provide proof of God’s existence. Chris believes that reality’s coherent and logical structure can only be explained by the presence of a God. In Langan's view, reality is not merely a backdrop for existence but an active, self-evident testament to divine intelligence. The CTMU proposes that this divine structure is both the logic and language of God, inviting us to see reality as the "ultimate reflection of a purposeful, infinite mind at work."
6) Jesus as an Expression of Divine Logic: Chris says “Jesus represents the highest logical incarnation of God…Jesus embodies God’s connection to humanity.” Instead of seeing God as distant, Langan’s model presents Jesus as demonstrating an active force that sustains reality and everything within it, which resonates with our inherent desire to feel connected to something greater. Jesus, in this framework, is seen as an essential "self-expression" or "living embodiment" of God’s nature, manifesting divine principles in human form.
7) Jesus Exemplifies Human Spirituality: “Jesus’ teachings align with the CTMU’s view of bridging humanity to the divine structure.” Langan says Jesus didn’t just teach rules, but actually represented God’s logic in a human form. The model shows God as intimately involved in our lives and choices, and Jesus as "moral exemplar." This perspective deepens the reality of Jesus as the ultimate guide to understanding God's Kingdom, both on earth and in eternity, because as the model concludes, "death isn't the end of us."
8) Reality is God's Language: According to the CTMU, reality is the language God uses to communicate with creation. He says Jesus is the “Word” or "Logos of God" manifest in human form, translating this language into a demonstrable form, and connecting humanity directly to this divine in visible ways. As The Way, he says "Jesus is a doorway or a gateway that we must conform to fit through in order to access the presence of God."
9) We Have a Divine Purpose: Chris explains that, within the CTMU model, humans have a divine purpose built into reality itself, which aligns with God’s universal purpose. This is reflected in the teachings of Jesus, who he sees as living out this purpose in human life more than any other religious or spiritual figure ever to live, bringing people closer to understanding and fulfilling their roles within God’s plan.
10) Love is the Logical Foundation: Love in the CTMU is viewed as a fundamental principle in Chris’s model, aligning with how Jesus taught love as the basis of human behavior. Chris's model concludes that love is integral to the logical coherence of the universe, as it connects all parts of reality in harmony, embodying the highest expression of divine logic.
So what do you think? Do these logical model outputs from the worlds highest IQ person align with your sense of logic and spirituality?
